Mahjong 102 — Putting It All Together

Mahjong 102 is the second session of the Beginner Foundations Series. We’ll build on what you learned in Mahjong 101 and begin putting those individual pieces together through gameplay. You’ll practice: 🀄️ Reading the National Mah Jongg League card and choosing a direction 🀄️ Setting up, dealing, and identifying East 🀄️ Making decisions during the Charleston 🀄️ Drawing, discarding, and calling tiles 🀄️ Exposures, jokers, and essential game procedures 🀄️ Playing a full game from start to finish This session is hands-on and supportive, with plenty of time to stop, ask questions, and work through situations as they come up at the table. You’re not expected to have everything figured out yet — the goal is to begin connecting what you learned in Mahjong 101 with what actually happens during a game. By the end of the session, you’ll have played through the game with guidance and be ready for your next step: more time at the table practicing what you’ve learned.
