Mahjong 101 — Building Your Mahjong Foundation

Mahjong 101 is the first session of the Beginner Foundations Series. In this session, you’ll get a warm, welcoming introduction to American Mahjong and begin building the fundamentals you’ll use throughout the series. We cover: 🀄️ Tiles and suits 🀄️ How the National Mah Jongg League card works 🀄️ How to build and recognize hands 🀄️ What to notice when you first look at your tiles 🀄️ The flow and structure of a round 🀄️ Essential rules and terminology The pace is relaxed and supportive, with plenty of time for questions. There’s a lot to learn in Mahjong, so we break it into manageable pieces rather than trying to play a full game right away. There’s nothing you need to study or practice before this session. Just come ready to learn — we’ll take it one step at a time. Registration Note: This session is included as part of your three-session Beginner Foundations Series.
