Open Play

Open Play is designed for players who are comfortable playing American Mahjong independently. While occasional questions are always welcome, this is not an instructional session. Players should be familiar with the flow of the game—including the Charleston, turn sequence, and general NMJL rules—and be comfortable playing independently so everyone can enjoy a relaxed, social pace of play. If you're still building confidence or aren't sure whether you're ready for Open Play, Guided Play offers a supportive environment with coaching to help you transition comfortably into independent play. Not sure which session is the best fit? Feel free to reach out before registering—I'm always happy to help you choose the session where you'll feel the most comfortable and have the most enjoyable experience. If you join the waitlist, please do not submit payment until you've been notified that a seat is available. You'll receive an email from me if you're moved off the waitlist and into a confirmed spot. What to Expect 🀄️ Two hours of relaxed, social American Mahjong 🀄️ A beautiful historic setting in the heart of Grafton 🀄️ Mahjong tile sets and racks are provided 🀄️ Feel free to bring a snack and a non-alcoholic beverage 🀄️ Your $10 registration helps cover the room rental Registration & Cancellation Policy Registration is nonrefundable. If your plans change, you may request a transfer to another session of the same type with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. If you would like to transfer your registration, please contact Central MA Mahjong before canceling online. Canceling your registration does not automatically create a transfer. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session cannot be transferred or credited. If Central MA Mahjong needs to cancel the session, you may transfer your registration or receive a refund. Photo Notice: We may take a few fun photos during Mahjong sessions for social media and our community. If you'd rather not be included, just let your host know.
